Q:

Why should I choose Money Counts over other financial services companies?

A:

We believe that our approach to planning is special. We want to custom engineer your financial strategy to put you in control of your money and to help you achieve your maximum potential. Our goal is to do this at minimal out of pocket cost to you. Money Counts is independent and has no products of its own. Our job is to help you determine the best strategies for your plan, and then help you find the financial products that work best in those strategies. We are free to use our years of experience to choose the best vendors in the financial services arena, and react quickly as new product features become available.

Q:

I already have a financial advisor. Why should I talk with Money Counts?

A:

Having an appropriate financial strategy is key to your potential success and well-being. You owe it to yourself to evaluate alternatives. It costs you only a little time to find out if Money Counts can help you. Please review the material on our website to learn more about how we are different and how we might help you. Some financial advisors are limited in the areas in which they offer advice or may be restricted in their available product selections. Money Counts can assist you with many types of financial strategies and show you how to optimize their interaction to help reduce risk and improve your potential success at reaching your goals.

Q:

What kind of people can you help?

A:

Our strategies can work for nearly everyone - families or individuals, business owners and other business professionals, self-employed and commissioned workers, retirees, students, and temporarily unemployed workers. People in transition - getting married, divorced, planning a family, relocating, changing careers - are also prime candidates for our services. Please refer to the Who We Help, Case Studies, and What Our Clients Have to Say sections of our site for more details.

Q:

How do you help business owners, professional practices and other highly compensated individuals?

A:

Many people require special coordination of business and personal assets. Special needs include lowering overall risk of assets and income, transferring ownership and increasing tax deferments during high income years. Money Counts provides a wide range of services to address these needs.

Q:

Your level of planning sounds quite sophisticated. Isn't your service really for the wealthy?

A:

Quite the contrary. Our strategies can work for nearly everyone. And the sooner you start the sooner you can see the results.

Q:

What does it cost to have you create a plan for me?

A:

Our goal is to enable our clients to create an appropriate financial strategy with no additional out-of-pocket cost. If our client chooses to purchase a financial product as part of a plan, we simply request that the product is purchased through us. We act as your “buyer’s agent” for financial services and products and we are compensated by the product providers.  In other cases, we charge fees for assets under management, or we charge financial planning fees for helping you create and maintain your financial strategy. Our goal is to have your asset growth or recovered cash flow pay these fees. Lastly, if our clients agree that we have done a good job, we request they refer us to other people like them, who we may also be able to help.

Q:

How do I get started?

A:

To get started you may call or email Money Counts, or use our "Sign Up!" page to schedule a personal appointment.

Q:

How soon after I call can I set my first appointment?

A:

When you seek our help we first ask you to complete a confidential questionnaire that provides us with the financial information we need to begin the process. We try to set our first appointments within 2 weeks of receiving your information.

Q:

How long does it take to put a plan in place?

A:

Our typical planning process requires three to five meetings of 60 to 90 minutes in length. For most clients, a plan can be completed in a month or less.

Q:

How many meetings will we have and what do we do in typical meetings?

A:

Usually three to five meetings are necessary to complete your plan. Simpler plans require three meetings while more complex plans can require five or more. The first meeting is an introductory session where you will learn about our process. The second meeting is an exchange of information, where we gather your financial information, learn about you, your goals and your priorities. In the final meetings we develop your detailed plan with you.

Q:

Your plans sound complicated. How will my plan be managed when our meetings are completed?

A:

Actually we strive to keep our plans simple and easy to manage. Our philosophy is to be available to you whenever you need our assistance. In addition, we strongly recommend that we meet or have a discussion about the progress of your plan on an annual basis, at a minimum.
