Marsha Taylor Pepper

Office Manager

Marsha Taylor Pepper was born in St. Louis, but has spent most of her life in Charlotte, NC.  She and her husband, Steve, are both native Charlotteans!  Marsha graduated with a BA degree in Political Science and Sociology from Randolph Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, VA.  Upon graduation, she moved to Richmond, VA, where she worked for local and state governments in the judicial and criminal justice systems.

In 1981, Marsha returned to Charlotte and began working as a Paralegal for a local law firm, focusing on the areas of estate planning and administration, taxes and real estate.  During this time, she became an active volunteer with The Light Factory Photographic Arts Center, where she met her husband while they both served on the Board of Directors.  Marsha left the law firm in 1988 to become the Assistant Director of The Light Factory, following her interest in non-profit arts administration.  After the birth of their daughter, Rachel, in 1989, Marsha went to work with Steve at his photographic and digital imaging lab, Quality Chrome/QC Creative Imaging, handling finances and customer accounts for the company.

In 2004, after economic downturns and industry changes, the Peppers decided to close their business after 22 years.  While networking to pursue a new job, Marsha heard about Debbie Peterson and Money Counts, and booked a meeting with Debbie.  After a 2 ½ hour “chat” in a local coffee shop, Debbie engaged Marsha to do some part time prospecting work as she built her business and clientele.  Meanwhile, Marsha returned to work full time as a Paralegal, but kept in touch with Debbie, hoping for the opportunity to work with her someday.  In 2007, that coffee chat 3 years before turned into an opening for Marsha to join Money Counts on a full-time basis as the Office Manager.

Marsha has been the first contact for many Money Counts clients, whether on the phone or in the office. Her legal and administrative experience, in addition to running a family business, allows her to relate to clients on a more personal level. Networking and finding similar connections with clients and prospects is one of Marsha’s favorite job “duties”.  In addition, with her photographic background, she enjoys working on creative marketing for the firm. The best thing about Money Counts, according to Marsha, is the Team’s genuine interest in the clients’ lives and families, allowing the entire staff to help each client with their own specific needs.
